We provide gardening and lawn mowing services to frail aged people, younger people with disabilities, and their carers within the Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai, Ryde and Hunters Hill areas. This allows them to remain in their own homes as the service helps to convert gardens to low maintenance ones, ensuring that the garden areas are safe and enjoyable.

	To support the frail aged, the disabled and their carers, by helping them maintain their independence and the freedom that comes from controlling their own lives.
	To help the frail aged and disabled to stay in their own homes longer by providing a gardening and lawn mowing service. Without this service these people are at risk of premature or inappropriate institutionalisation.
	To assist in the conversion of gardens to "easy care".
	To provide help to those in need, either directly through this service or by referral to other organisations.
	To recruit and train volunteers in the techniques used in providing the service.
	To work in close liaison with other community service organisations.
	To encourage and assist the establishment of similar groups in other areas.

Volunteers Our organisation primarily relies on the volunteers who sign up, to conduct the projects. Without volunteers, Easy Care Gardening just could not continue running. Easy Care Gardening recruits and trains volunteers in the Easy Care Gardening method (see volunteer job information section for more details), and volunteer gardening teams are led by experienced gardeners. Different teams work for clients most days of each week. At present we have 250 volunteers looking after about 600 clients. However we really need more as numbers of clients continue to grow. Our Staff We employ a full time Manager and six part time staff to oversee the administration, paperwork, information & communication flow of the Organisation. A Management Committee of volunteers, elected each year, professionally manages the enterprise.   General Our volunteers are covered by insurance and protected by our occupation health and safety rules. There is no need to be an expert, and age is no barrier. Out of pocket expenses are covered.
