| Chris and Judith have both been volunteering with Easy Care Gardening
since December 2005.
Chris and Judith met 17 years ago at Mother's Group and have been friends ever since. Both were career type people, but their career wasn't the "be all and end all" for either of them and, having had their daughters, neither woman felt they needed to go back to work. Chris and Judith both had girls who were ice-skaters, and were on various ice-skating committees when Chris saw an advertisement for Easy Care Gardening and thought that might suit Judith, who loves gardening. They decided to work once a morning every fortnight, but this soon became more as they realised that their help made such a difference (and they became fitter!). Chris and Judith see their work as a more meaningful way of regularly "catching up" and making new friends. |

helping people out and it is a pleasure to see elderly people who appreciate the efforts of others. I had the
spare time and wanted to give back something to the community. Easy Care Gardening is interesting and I enjoy it
because of the company of the people who we meet. We do meet lovely people at the gardens."

" Teams we work with are full of stupendous
people, very dedicated to what is being done. You don't need to be the best gardener in town or know much about
gardening but you will able to help those people who don't want to leave their home and so keep them at home. You
have to enjoy the outdoors and people's company. In some cases, you are the only person they see. Sometimes
socialising a little with them and listening to them, they become part of your family. "

| " I joined Easy Care Gardening after I left work,
firstly doing gardening and then moving on to office work. I joined Easy Care Gardening for the pleasure of doing
things. It feels good to even do odd jobs and I like working with the ones in the Office. It is good to join in
helping out the elderly and folks who can't garden, so they stay at home longer. There is a lot of pleasure with
the nice gardens and it is all worthwhile. "

years. I heard of Easy Care Gardening Inc. on a TV interview and it sounded like a good thing. I have an interest
in gardening and with Easy Care Gardening, I am doing something I am interested in while making a contribution. It
seems to meet my needs and help others. It is always a pleasure when people are happy with what you have done. I
enjoy the company of each other on the team."

" I was in Nursing for many years. I wanted to do
something with Harry. Harry got into Easy Care Gardening and then I joined. We were able to do it together as a
couple and we both enjoy it. I am doing this because of all the fun he was having. I get to keep an eye on Harry
on Wednesdays. Upon retirement, I looked at different volunteer groups but Harry was not interested. It was
different with Easy Care Gardening. I was hooked after one week. With Easy Care Gardening, I was able to satisfy
the lust for my gardening needs. One of the important parts of volunteering is the little time we spend having
morning tea. It is lovely to talk to the owner of the home. It is also nice to get a kiss and thanks from someone
with appreciation."

gardening very much. I like helping others as my own garden was in control. I found out about Easy Care Gardening
through the local paper and I rang the Office. My advice to everyone out there is join now. It is a worthwhile
activity. The fresh air is only one of the many benefits. There is a lot of people who are delighted with the help
